A chair designed and made in one day, a chair made out of cheap plate material in the most basic logical way possible.
The design of the chair is bases on 2D views of a archetype chair form. Construction dimensions 10 x 10 cm, 45 x 45 cm seat.
To make a more interesting form than this straight chair the front view is angled 5 degrees up and the side view is angled 5 degrees down. So creating an interesting line game.
All the joints are cut 45 degrees (mitre) to create a closed join, but as the material is course, holes are formed around the joints.
The logic basic sollution is to fill these in with filler, to make it more interesting the filler is colored blue instead of standard white.
The Out of the blue chair stands for the basic beginning of logic design, to create an object, see problems on the way and make sollutions in the minimal possible way you can without making a boring picture. Form follows Logic.
OSB board, wood glue, filler, pigment, varnish.
